High temperatures because of climate change

Climate Change Denial: The Truth We Can’t Ignore

•

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we’ve all been enduring the effects of climate change for quite some time now. Whether it’s extreme weather events like high temperatures, floods, forest fires, or apocalyptic rains, to name a few. Yet despite all these events, there are still people who think that climate change is a conspiracy theory, that these are events that have always been present throughout history and things like that. Yes, that’s true. These events have always existed, and they are cyclical, but not at the quickness and intensity that are occurring right now.

The variable that has made these catastrophes possible was mankind and its industrialization. It’s no secret that greenhouse gases that come from vehicles of transportation and industries contributed to this. However, one of the major contributors to the production of these harmful gases is factory farming.

Many people don’t believe in these problems (that are massively scientifically proven). They prefer to support the economy, and the industry, all in the name of progress, not caring if there’s a price to pay with our health or even our lives in the future. The important thing for them is the now. And, of course, one of the industries that they support is the meat and dairy one, factory farming, despite all of its cruel and harmful effects on animals, the planet, and our health.

We are almost at an irreversible point of damage to our environment (many scientific investigators say that we are even past that point), so why people don’t seem to care? People don’t want to change their tastes and choices, even though that implies the death and suffering of millions of people, themselves, and their loved ones. Without even thinking about the abuse and death that millions of animals and animal factory workers have to endure every day.

I often think that the only way to improve is to worsen first, and then people will change their minds. How many more animals and people will have to die due to the effects on climate and their health before we realize the way we are living it’s not ok. I imagine future generations (if they exist) when they learn about our times will be horrified at the way that we treated our planet, our species, our animals, and the barbaric traditions that we lived by.

It’s never too late to change. We only have one home, planet, and life to live. Our every action counts, so let’s make it a positive one.
